Films bring us together and unite us in a story. Topics in this fascinating story include the Thames’s role in bringing people, ideas, wealth and knowledge from all over the world, making London the vibrant cosmopolitan metropolis we know today; and how its course and landscape have dramatically changed over time.
Telling this story is a wealth of expert speakers, including quaternary scientist Martin Bates, historian Pieter van der Merwe, poet Tom Chivers, botanist Mark Spencer, writer Mike Phillips, and archaeologists Sophie Jackson and Jane Sidell, Inspector of Ancient Monuments at Historic England.
Thanks to our generous supporters, including City Cruises, the Fishmongers’ Company, Hermitage River Projects, the Illuminated River Foundation, Port of London Authority, Thames Limo, Thames Sailing Barge Will, members of City livery companies and passionate river enthusiasts, shooting and editing are now complete.
Postproduction is underway. We’re now fundraising to cover vital final costs, including sound design and grading. Please do consider making a donation. With your help, we can complete the film in autumn 2026.
